"Cholera: Symptoms, Causes, Prevention, and Everything You Need to Know"

Hello friends, today we are going to talk about a disease which is spreading rapidly in the world, whose name is Cholera

Introduction :

This is a very dangerous type of infectious
disease, which spreads by finding its favorable position or spreads rapidly by coming in contact with someone, which manifests like an epidemic and wipes out entire neighborhoods. Aaj ka topic hai इस खतरनाक रोग के बारे में पूरी जानकारी, ताकि आप इसके लक्षण, कारण और रोकथाम को समझ सकें।

Causes of cholera:

The primary cause behind the rapid transmission of this disease is a semi-circular shaped bacterium, commonly known as Cholera bacteria. Once these bacteria reach the intestines, they trigger severe symptoms. One of the most recognizable signs is watery diarrhea, often described as “rice-water stools,” which occurs in large quantities.

Apart from affecting the intestines, these bacteria can also invade other organs, including the gall bladder and the urethra, making the infection more serious if not treated promptly. Understanding the behavior of cholera bacteria is crucial for prevention, early detection, and proper treatment.

Cholera Symptoms:

(1).

  • Severe Diarrhea (Primary Symptom)

    • Cholera primarily causes sudden and severe diarrhea.

    • If there are any pre-existing abdominal issues, the diarrhea can become extremely dangerous.

    • It may be accompanied by stomach pain and cramps, though sometimes diarrhea can occur without any pain.

    • The initial episodes of diarrhea often occur after a long gap and are pale yellow, resembling “rice-water” stools.

  • Blood Pressure and Hemoglobin Changes

    • Patients often experience a drop in blood pressure due to fluid loss.

    • Dehydration may also lead to an apparent increase in hemoglobin levels.

  • Frequent Diarrhea Episodes

    • Patients may have 2–4 episodes of diarrhea per day, which is a common symptom.

    • Repeated diarrhea can lead to severe dehydration, weakness, and fatigue.

  • (4) Dehydration occurs when the body loses more fluids than it takes in. This can lead to several noticeable symptoms, including:

    • Dry skin that loses its normal elasticity

    • Sunken eyes that appear hollow or tired

    • Rapid heartbeat as the body tries to compensate for fluid loss

    (5) Extreme weakness:The patient feels fatigued and weak

    (6) Muscles cramps: Muscles cramps develop due to electrolyte imbalance

Methods to avoid dangerous Disease like a Cholera :

(1)If you notice any symptoms of this disease, consult a doctor immediately to ensure timely prevention and treatment.

    (2) The patient who is suffering from the disease should be kept lying comfortably and covered with warm clothes.

(3). If the patient is vomiting and having diarrhoea every now and then then dissolve kaolin in water and give it two or three spoons at short intervals.

(4). When something starts to stay in the stomach then give glucose water and when the condition improves a little more, give diluted milk water and then thick fruit juice.
